With around 150 member companies from the food industry and related fields, the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) operates as a research institute working in the areas of product development, process development and analysis. Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research (FBR) is a R&D organisation for innovation in healthy and sustainable food and biobased products. Food & Biobased Research is working globally with industry, governmental authorities and other knowledge institutes and building on the science of Wageningen University. FBR has more than 15 years of experience in novel processing, including microbiology, product quality, process impact, technology development, implementation and consumer acceptance. This resulted in scientific publications, cooperation in many (international) projects and industrial cooperation for specific applications. FBR has lab scale and pilot scale equipment of high pressure processing, pulsed electric field processing, cold plasma and advanced heating technologies.
IRTA is a research institute devoted to R+D+I in a variety of agri-food areas, such as vegetal production, animal production, food industries, environment and global change, and agri-food economy. The transfer of scientific advances contribute to the modernization, competitiveness and sustainable development of agriculture, food and aquaculture sectors, the supply of healthy and quality foods for consumers and, consequently, improving the welfare of the population. IRTA is adscribed to the Departament d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació (DARP, Department of Agriculture) of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia).

Foodcase: The food innovation and development company for the in-flight catering industry. Foodcase has developed innovative methods to create ready-to-eat meals and snacks for the airline industry with an extended shelf life at room temperature. This has been achieved by a smart combination of food preservation technology, packaging knowledge and culinary excellence. Depending on the product, they can be kept at ambient temperatures (5-25°C) between 2 and 6 months.
